Parks & Recreation

Spencer County Fiscal Court, through the Parks and Recreation Department, operates two parks and sports leagues. The Parks Department strive to provide leisure time activities for all citizens of the county and their guest. For more information on the facilities and activities call (502) 376-9850. Parks

Waterford Community Park

18 acre facility located five miles west of Taylorsville on Highway 44. The park is home to Waterford Homecoming, Spencer County Youth Soccer, Waterford Sports Softball and Spencer County Youth Softball.
Amenities include: picnic shelter, playground, restrooms, .45 mile walking track, fitness stations, basketball court, soccer fields and softball fields.

Ray Jewell Memorial Park

18 acre facility on Ray Road off of Highway 44 East across from Spencer County High in Taylorsville. The park is home to the Spencer County Youth Baseball.
Amenities include: 0.55 mile walking track, fitness stations, basketball court, playground, baseball and soccer fields, restrooms, and concession stand.

State Park

Taylorsville Lake State Park

Built in 1983, this beautiful 1200-acre park features 24 miles of hiking and horseback riding trails; RV (with utility hook-ups), primitive, and equestrian campsites; multiple boat ramps on the 3050-acre lake; Marina with boat rentals; great fishing; and much, much more. Waterford Sports Softball offers adult softball leagues. Contact Brian Spencer at (502) 376-9850 or email brianspencer@spencercountyky.gov.  Leagues begin in June.

Spencer County Sports Association offers recreational and competitive soccer for boys and girls from 2 to 18 years old. The open registration period for the Spring season is in January and for the Fall season in June. Tryouts for competitive teams are held in June. Spencer County Youth Baseball Association offers baseball and softball for children 5 to 18 years of age. Contact Raina Allen, scybassoc@gmail.com.

The Parks Department with Spencer County Youth Basketball offers a recreational basketball program for children grade K through 8.
